Nokia Bell-Labs Fully-Funded Scholarship in Mobile Systems and Security

The Mobile and Wearable Systems and Augmented Intelligence Centre will offer a fully-funded (fees and maintenance) scholarship to a highly motivated and suitably qualified PhD student.

We are looking for applicants with a focus on security and privacy for mobile and wearable systems. A good background in both mobile or embedded systems as well as security and privacy is required. The project provides the opportunity to work with Professors Beresford and Mascolo in the Department of Computer Science and Technology and collaborate with researchers at Nokia Bell Labs Cambridge.

Applicants must have, or be expected to gain, a 1st class honours masters degree (or equivalent) in computer science or cognate subject. Previous experience with research and publication is welcome.

To apply for this scholarship, please email a two-page research proposal together with a two-page CV and academic transcripts to Professor Beresford (Alastair.Beresford@cl.cam.ac.uk). Applicants should also arrange for two referees to send references in support of their application to the same email addresses. All paperwork, including the references should arrive no later than 15th June.

Please note that any offer of funding will be conditional on securing a place as a PhD student. Candidates will need to apply separately for admission through the University's Graduate Admissions application portal; this can be done before or after applying for this funding opportunity. Note that there is a £65 fee for PhD applications. The applicant portal can be accessed via https://www.cst.cam.ac.uk/admissions/phd.
