Expected Academic Standard

Applicants for this course should have achieved a UK Masters (Merit).

If your degree is not from the UK, please check International Qualifications to find the equivalent in your country.

The applicant's master's degree will normally be in education or a discipline related to the proposed doctoral research topic.

Applicants for this course whose master's is from another university should have achieved the equivalent of a UK master's (merit). Students wishing to continue to the EdD or PhD from either the MPhil in Education or the Master of Education in the Faculty of Education are required to achieve a mark of 70+ for their MPhil or MEd thesis.
