Apply using the Applicant Portal

The Apply Now button on the right will take you to the Applicant Portal, where you can create and submit your application and supporting documents, and request references.

An application is only complete when:

  1. you have submitted your application and supporting documents via the Applicant Portal
  2. you have paid the £65 application fee
  3. your referees have provided their references.

If you miss the deadlines specified in this section, you will not be able to submit your application.

IMPORTANT: This course is only open to students who have completed the PGCE at the Faculty of Education.  PGCEM applicants are NOT required to submit transcripts or references. Please ignore the instructions above and below on this page and instead refer to the instructions for applicants provided in the "How to Apply" box on the Graduate Study: PGCE Progression to MEd page on the Faculty of Education website.

Selection Process

Applications are considered in three batches; firstly after the 5th December and then after the 27th February and finally the application deadline of 2nd June. It is possible that some applications from the early batches are held for consideration in further batches. This route may fill up well ahead of the advertised closing date. You are advised to apply by the December deadline if possible. Interviews are conducted in person or via Skype

  • Reasons for applying (1500 characters)
  • Assessment of suitability for part time study

Gates Cambridge Scholarships

If you wish to be considered for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship you will also need to provide the following:

  • Gates Cambridge Reference  
  • Research Proposal (PhD applicants only)
