ESRC for appropriate topics approved by the ESRC DTP, as well as other University funds and College awards.
SPRI offers the Debenham Scholarship and Scott Polar Scholarship to outstanding applicants for the MPhil in Polar Studies. All applicants are considered for these awards.

Although not mandatory, very occasionally a student may conduct a short period of fieldwork. These trips may incur additional travel costs for the student, but there are opportunities to apply for funding through colleges and other sources.
