Medicine is no longer accepting new applications.

Funding Opportunities

For those who are eligible, the studentships provide an annual stipend for 3.5 years, full fees and research costs. The duration of the studentship allows for a funded period of write-up prior to thesis submission.

Our students are also able to apply for additional funding from the "Skills and Partnership Training Fund" (SPTF) to support skills and partnership training throughout the duration of the programme.

Residence requirements

Eligibility for the studentships is subject to strict MRC nationality and residence criteria, summarised below. Visit the Prospective Students page on the Cambridge MRC DTP Programme website for full details.

UK National and UK Residents – Full funding is available, for university fees and a stipend.

Other European Economic Area (EEA) Applicants – Partial funding is available, covering university fees only. Therefore, please tick the request for additional funding consideration in your application via the Applicant Portal. See: Funding

Non-EEA Applicants – Unfortunately you are not eligible for this MRC Doctoral Training Programme. You are, however, welcome to apply for other PhD programmes and can complete the funding section of the Graduate Application Form to indicate that you would like to be considered for other types of funding. See: Financing Your Studies
