Graduate Admissions

Apply using the Applicant Portal

The Apply Now button on the right will take you to the Applicant Portal, where you can create and submit your application and supporting documents, and request references.

An application is only complete when:

  1. you have submitted your application and supporting documents via the Applicant Portal
  2. you have paid the £60 application fee
  3. your referees have provided their references.

If you miss the deadlines specified in this section, you will not be able to submit your application.

Applicants are encouraged to contact potential supervisors directly in the first instance, to discuss their application and funding possibilities. A list of CIMR PIs can be found on the CIMR website.

If you have been advised to make a formal application by your prospective supervisor, you will need to do this by submitting your application via the online Applicant Portal.

Applicants wishing to undertake an MPhil in  Medical Genetics with a PI not based in CIMR should also apply through CIMR for MPhil in Medical Science (CIMR).

This course is part of a scheme within the Graduate School of Life Sciences which enables three applications to be made with payment of a single £60 application fee. A list of other eligible courses and further information can be found here

How to apply

Applicants should complete the University's on-line application form, by the closing date, via the on-line Application Portal.

Applicants from overseas, who need to apply for extra funding to cover the gap between home and overseas fees, should apply via the on-line Application Portal by the deadline for the funding applications as noted on the Graduate Admissions web site.

Selection Process

Applications are considered as they are received. However, applicants wishing to be considered for any of the University's funding competitions will need to apply by the Funding deadline (see right sidebar)
