Biological Sciences is no longer accepting new applications.

Apply using the Applicant Portal

The Apply Now button on the right will take you to the Applicant Portal, where you can create and submit your application and supporting documents, and request references.

An application is only complete when:

  1. you have submitted your application and supporting documents via the Applicant Portal
  2. you have paid the £60 application fee
  3. your referees have provided their references.

If you miss the deadlines specified in this section, you will not be able to submit your application.

The deadline for  BBSRC DTP Programme is 6th December 2018. Further calls for applications may be opened should additional funding opportunities arise and these will be advertised on our website:  https://bbsrcdtp.lifesci.cam.ac.uk/.

Please indicate in your statement of interest/reasons for applying which BBSRC research theme you would like to apply to – you can apply for more than one theme; however, you must choose at least one. Students are not normally allowed to change theme, so we encourage you to read about each theme and research conducted at the University before choosing a theme. Academics must be associated with the DTP Partnership in order to supervise a DTP student.

This course is part of a scheme within the Graduate School of Life Sciences which enables three applications to be made with payment of a single £60 application fee. A list of other eligible courses and further information can be found here

Selection Process

Applications are considered together after the closing date at the beginning of December. Successful applicants will be notified at the beginning of January and invited to interview at the end of the month.

Where additional funding opportunities arise these will be advertised and the deadline and selection process will be made clear to applicants.
